4-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech

Four days, no rush. This itinerary covers the great southern route from Marrakech to the Sahara with shorter driving days, more stops, and a full evening and morning in the Erg Chebbi dunes at Camp Sakura Desert Dream.
Day 1 · Marrakech to Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate
Cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass with photo stops in the High Atlas, then explore the kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou with time for lunch and a proper visit. Continue to Ouarzazate, the 'Hollywood of Africa', where you can visit the Taourirt kasbah before your overnight stay.
Day 2 · Ouarzazate to the Skoura oasis, Valley of Roses and Dades Gorge
A gentle day through some of Morocco's most beautiful valleys: the Skoura palm grove, the Valley of Roses and the winding road up the Dades Gorge. Overnight in a riad above the gorge with time to walk and relax.
Day 3 · Todra Gorge to Merzouga and your night in the desert
Walk the canyon floor of the Todra Gorge, then head south through Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga. At sunset, ride your camel over the dunes to Camp Sakura: candlelit dinner, drums around the fire, and your luxury tent under the stars.
Day 4 · Sunrise in the dunes, return to Marrakech
Sunrise over Erg Chebbi, breakfast at the camp, and the scenic drive back to Marrakech with stops along the way. Evening drop-off at your hotel or riad.

The 4-day tour covers the same legendary route with shorter driving days: you sleep in Ouarzazate on night one, explore the Skoura oasis and Valley of Roses at leisure, and still enjoy the full desert night at Camp Sakura. It is the better choice if long days in the car are a concern.
Yes. All our tours are private: your own vehicle, your own driver and your own pace. We do not mix groups.
A private, air-conditioned 4x4 or minivan depending on your group size, driven by an experienced local driver who knows the route well.
Yes. Departure times, stops, extra nights and your choice of tent at Camp Sakura can all be adjusted. Tell us what you have in mind when you request a quote.
Light layers for the day, a warm jacket for desert nights (especially November to February), sunglasses, sunscreen, a scarf, and comfortable closed shoes. Luggage stays safely in the vehicle during the camel trek; bring a small overnight bag to the camp.
Dinner and breakfast are included at all three overnight stops (Ouarzazate, the Dades Gorge and Camp Sakura). Lunches on the road are not included.
