3-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech
Marrakech · Aït Ben Haddou · Dades Gorge · Todra Gorge · Merzouga, ending with a night at Camp Sakura.
The classic route across southern Morocco. In three days you cross the High Atlas mountains, walk the famous kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, sleep beside the Dades Gorge, and finish with the highlight: a sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night in a luxury tent at Camp Sakura Desert Dream.
Day 1 · Marrakech to Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate and the Dades Gorge
We leave Marrakech in the morning and climb over the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m) through Berber mountain villages. After visiting the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, famous from many films, we continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to the Dades Gorge, where you spend the night in a local riad.
Day 2 · Dades to the Todra Gorge and the dunes of Merzouga
After breakfast we drive to the Todra Gorge for a walk between its 300-metre canyon walls, then continue through Tinghir, Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga. In the late afternoon your camel caravan carries you over the dunes at sunset to Camp Sakura: dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a night in your luxury tent.
Day 3 · Sunrise over Erg Chebbi, return to Marrakech
Wake early for sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the camp before the return journey to Marrakech, arriving in the evening. Drop-off at your hotel or riad.
